National Association of Nigeria Nurses and Midwives (NANNM) Niger State Council has converged a two-day retreat seminars for nurse leaders and state executives cut across the Local Government Areas of the state.
The event which took place at the Nurses Endwell plaza, Minna, Niger State, have in attendance union alumni, government dignaries, including the participants who are leaders of various hospitals.
During an interview with pressmen the State Chairman of the NANNM, Dr. Aliyu Adamu Muye commended the state governor Farmer Umar Mohammed Bago for his continual support and concern in the health sector.
He said that the Governor’s on-going recruitment of 500 nurses will be scattered across various hospitals and health care clinic in order to tackle the poor man power system, adding that this achievement will facilitate medical attention to those who need it.
The State Chairman called nurses leaders and state executive to see unionism as a deliberate struggle to the betterness of the welfarism for their various staff in the hospitals.
“Knowledge has no limits as the fundamentals of knowledge is derived through learning and relearning” he said.
Dr. Aliyu further called the participants to seize every opportunity to add to their learning during the course of the retreat.
Participants said that the retreat is timely that they have learnt new expertise and that they will go back to their various destination to put it into practice.
